PCs for People Welcomes Susan Parriott as Chief Executive Officer

PCs for People, a recognized leader in promoting digital inclusion, has officially announced the appointment of Susan Parriott as its new Chief Executive Officer starting March 16, 2026. With over 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, Susan is expected to bring a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record in elevating mission-driven organizations.

In a statement made by Brendt Rusten, the Board Chair of PCs for People, the selection process was rigorous. The board prioritized candidates who not only demonstrated strategic planning capabilities but also exhibited a deep commitment to the mission and culture of the organization. Brendt emphasized that Susan embodies these qualities, along with a well-documented history of building strong teams and cultivating partnerships that enhance community impact.

Throughout her career, Susan has driven significant growth initiatives, notably expanding multi-state operations and raising funds effectively. Her previous leadership roles include managing regional chapters for the ALS Association across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, where she notably increased both fundraising and services provided to ALS patients. Recently, she held senior positions at the Alzheimer's Association, further expanding programs and fundraising capacities across multiple states.

As the newly appointed CEO, Susan will manage daily operations and collaborate with the leadership team to bolster PCs for People's mission. The organization focuses on ensuring technology accessibility and offering digital skills training for low-income individuals and families. Susan expressed her excitement, stating, "I'm honored to join an organization that has already made such a meaningful impact in communities across the country. PCs for People has built a powerful model for expanding digital access. I look forward to working with the team, partners, and supporters to continue growing that impact."

In conjunction with Susan's appointment, PCs for People also welcomes Dan Hoogheem as the new Chief Operating Officer and Rick Triggs as the Chief Financial Officer, alongside Jenny Lorton taking charge as the National Director of People, Culture, and Board Affairs. These leadership changes align with the organization's strategic vision to amplify its impact on digital inclusion.

Founded with the mission to drive digital equity, PCs for People has distributed over 400,000 computers and connected more than 1 million people to the technology that facilitates learning, access to services, and economic opportunities. The dedicated team, led by Susan, aims to further enhance this mission.

In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, the leadership of Susan Parriott comes at a pivotal time as communities continue to confront the challenges of digital exclusion. Her extensive experience will be instrumental in steering the organization toward new horizons, building on the foundation laid by her predecessors.

As PCs for People continues to expand its reach, the commitment to technological access for all individuals, regardless of their socioeconomic status, serves as a reminder of the vital role that organizations like this play in bridging the digital divide.
