With a focus on residential satisfaction, this year's survey has garnered a wealth of insights, highlighting the most desirable locations in the region.

Happiness Ranking Highlights

According to the Good Room Network Happiness Ranking 2025 for Shikoku, the top three cities are as follows:
1. Kamiyama Town, Itano District, Tokushima
2. Higashi-Miyoshi Town, Miyoshi District, Tokushima
3. Ainan Town, Minami-Uwajima District, Ehime

Kamiyama Town of Tokushima has secured the first rank with a remarkably high evaluation, registering a deviation score in the 70s, which makes it stand out in the rankings. Higashi-Miyoshi Town has improved its standing from fifth place last year to second this year. Ainan Town has achieved a notable climb from twelfth to third place. Among the top ten, nine locations belong to the rural areas of Tokushima, Ehime, and Kagawa, with four municipalities located in the Itano District of Tokushima.

The happiness score is based on a cumulative five-year collection of responses from 2021 to 2025, ensuring robust data that reflects the sentiments of local residents. For municipalities with fewer than 50 respondents, data from 2020, and if necessary, 2019, was included to supplement the findings.

Long-Term Living Ranking Highlights

In terms of the Long-Term Living Ranking 2025, the results were similarly revealing:
1. Miki Town, Kida District, Kagawa (First place for two consecutive years)
2. Ishii Town, Meisei District, Tokushima
