Dott and Segway Join Forces to Boost Eco-Friendly Mobility for Milan 2026 Winter Events

Dott and Segway Collaborate for Eco-Friendly Mobility

As Milan gears up for the much-anticipated Winter 2026 events, Segway, a global leader in innovative personal mobility and service robotics, is thrilled to announce its partnership with Dott, Europe’s leading shared micromobility operator. Together, these two companies are set to implement a fleet of enhanced electric bikes, specifically the Segway Urban A200, to ensure sustainable transportation for athletes, visitors, and residents during the events.

Significant Electric Bike Deployment

For the Milan 2026 events, Dott has been assigned an impressive fleet of 5,000 shared electric bikes. The company will be transitioning its fleet to the Segway Urban A200 in various locations across the city. This large-scale deployment positions both Dott and Segway as pivotal contributors to Milan's green mobility infrastructure during this historical international gathering.

The Segway Urban A200: Setting a New Standard

The Segway Urban A200, set to be deployed in Milan, is a testament to thoughtful design and the rigorous analysis of user feedback over the years. This electric bike is built specifically for high-volume operations and offers substantial improvements over earlier models. Enhanced stability and control ensure a smoother ride, making it an ideal option for everyday use by both residents and tourists navigating the streets of Milan. An upgraded battery system provides reliable daily performance, increasing the accessibility of fully charged bikes for users throughout the city. The Urban A200 features a versatile frame design that accommodates different heights, maximizing comfort and usability for all riders.

Zack Yan, Segway's General Manager for the Mobility Division, shared, "The Urban A200 marks a significant milestone in shared electric bike technology. In close collaboration with Dott, we’ve developed a vehicle that meets the intensive demands of shared fleet operations while greatly improving the user experience. Every feature, from integrated phone charging to an enhanced battery capacity, has been designed with practical use in mind. Witnessing our bikes facilitate mobility during the events solidifies our commitment to developing micromobility solutions that cities and operators can depend on during critical moments."

Extending the Collaboration Beyond Milan

The partnership between Dott and Segway extends beyond the borders of Milan, reaching the city of Verona. As the host city for the Closing Ceremony of the event, Verona will feature Dott as the exclusive supplier of electric bikes, with its fleet entirely comprised of Segway models. This comprehensive coverage ensures that eco-friendly transportation options utilizing Segway technology are readily available across all key venue locations.

Champion Pass: Making Mobility Accessible

In a bid to promote accessibility, Dott is launching a special pricing program known as the Champion Pass during the Games. For just €2.99 per month, users can purchase this pass directly from the Dott app, allowing unlimited rides on both electric bikes and scooters. The first five minutes of each ride is available for only €0.75, with a discounted rate of €0.10 per minute thereafter. This pricing framework aims to make shared micromobility an affordable and accessible alternative for traveling around the city during peak periods, encouraging more people to consider electric bikes as a convenient choice over private cars and other traditional transport modes.

Andrea Giaretta, Vice President of Revenue at Dott, emphasized the company’s mission, stating, "We have always aimed to transform mobility forever. By simultaneously introducing the Segway Urban A200 and the Champion Pass, we simplify travel for the Milanese and the many visitors expected in the city. We reduce congestion, support public transportation, and provide a practical option to quickly connect key points of interest without resorting to private vehicles."

Commitment to Sustainability

The Milan 2026 Winter events have established sustainability as a core pillar of their mission, and the collaboration between Dott and Segway aligns perfectly with this goal. By offering thousands of visitors convenient and sustainable transport alternatives, this partnership showcases the viability of shared micromobility systems for large international events.
