Delicious Egg-Themed Collaborations Coming to FamilyMart

FamilyMart is set to wow its Kansai customers with exciting new products inspired by the rich culinary traditions of the region. Starting October 14, 2025, the convenience store will unveil two egg-themed items created in collaboration with famed local restaurants, alongside the popular TV program YonnchanTV from Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS).

This year’s collaboration is part of FamilyMart’s ongoing commitment to enhancing customer joy and community connections, focusing on local specialties while leveraging digital signage to promote regional vitality. Two new items will be available at approximately 2,600 FamilyMart locations across the Kansai region, including Shiga, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Nara, Wakayama (with some exclusions), and certain stores in Mie.

Exciting New Menu Items: Omubolognese and Oyako Don Rice Balls!

Continuing the collaboration with MBS’s YonnchanTV, last year’s successful launch of three unique food offerings only set the stage for this year. With contributions from announcers and renowned establishments, FamilyMart invites customers to experience their flavorful take on “egg” — a culinary favorite in the Kansai area.

The two standout products this year include:
1. Oyako Don-style Rice Ball supervised by Kudo
2. Omubolognese supervised by Juutei

Oyako Don-style Rice Ball by Kudo

Announcer Kouka Yamazaki teamed up with Kudo, a well-known oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) restaurant she frequently visits in both personal and professional settings. This rice ball embodies the savory richness of Kudo’s signature dish, featuring chicken, egg yolk sauce, and dashi jelly. Yamazaki emphasizes that every bite captures the flavor sensation of their delectable oyakodon, crafted with care for customers to enjoy.

“We focused on how to encapsulate the delightful taste of oyakodon into a rice ball,” said Yamazaki. “The goal was to create a product that combines the juicy broth, tender chicken texture, and creamy egg for an enjoyable experience.”

On the other hand, announcer Yohei Kawachi, a fan of home-cooked pasta, drew inspiration from Juutei’s unique kitchen practices. This dish combines a rich meat sauce and fluffy egg, designed for generous portions to satisfy anyone’s hunger combined with the comforting essence of home cooking.
