APA Group's 55th Anniversary Celebration
On June 2nd, the APA Group, headquartered in Akasaka, Tokyo, celebrated its impressive 55th anniversary at the APA Hotel & Resort Tokyo Bay Makuhari. The event was a grand affair, attended by numerous VIPs including 21 members of the National Diet and ambassadors from 15 countries. CEO Kazushi Motoya expressed his gratitude for the attendees' presence and highlighted the achievements of the company.
During a preceding press conference, Motoya shared details about the newly announced five-year mid-term plan, 'AIM5-II'. He stated, "Having successfully met the revenue and room number targets of our previous plan, AIM5, we are excited to introduce AIM5-II. By the end of March 2031, our aim is to have 100,000 rooms under our brand domestically and 10,000 rooms internationally, with a consolidated revenue target of 350 billion yen and an operating income of 100 billion yen for the fiscal year ending in November 2030." He expressed his desire to explore new areas abroad, including Australia, and mentioned future endeavors in related hotel businesses.
The event also included a surprise announcement regarding the relocation of the APA Museum to the APA Hotel & Resort Tokyo Bay Makuhari in November. Furthermore, Takushi Motoya, the executive of the APA Group, introduced his fifth book titled, 'The Determination to Break Through in One Second – Discarding Excuses, Facing Challenges, and Taking Responsibility: 55 Words to Survive 'This Moment''.
In the second part of the celebration, CEO Motoya expressed joy at hosting such a grand affair commemorating the company's 55th anniversary. Although he lamented the absence of the late founder, Masahiro Motoya, he emphasized the APA Group's commitment to growing into a centennial company that will reach even greater heights. "Since I was born in the same year of the company's founding in 1971, I aim to give a speech at the 100th-anniversary celebration," he said, reminiscing about the trajectory of the company and its future prospects while a video summarizing its journey was presented.
Messages of congratulation were delivered by prominent guests such as Nobuharu Kurata, president of Tokyo International University; Satsuki Katayama, a senator and Minister of Finance; Takashi Ueno, a professor emeritus at Gakushuin University; and Toshihito Kumagai, the Governor of Chiba Prefecture. Other congratulatory remarks came from various dignitaries including city mayors and influential business leaders.
The highlight of the evening was a celebratory toast initiated by Takaki Kono, the president of TKP Corporation. Attendees also received kind words from prominent politicians and business figures, solidifying the excellent reputation of the APA Group in the industry. Many congratulatory telegrams were sent from prominent government representatives, reaffirming the importance of the APA Group's milestone event.
