Discovering Onomichi: A Special Feature on Hiro Nobuto's Journey
A unique web feature titled "Hiro Nobuto Goes to Onomichi" has kicked off by Machikado Creative, following the launch on April 25. The project is spearheaded by Machikado Co., Ltd., located in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, under the leadership of President Yasunobu Tanaka. This initiative is part of a broader effort to highlight the picturesque coastal city of Onomichi, located in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.
This special web section can be accessed via
Machikado Creative's official page. It is a collaboration with Hiro Nobuto Co., Ltd., a group company focused on culinary experiences. A dedicated team of four staff members from Hiro Nobuto visited Onomichi to cover various aspects of the city's charm, resulting in a series of engaging content available on the site.
Currently, the feature includes five unique pieces and a contribution from Yasunobu Tanaka to the Onomichi Fish Store site. Following the initial release, more articles are planned to be published from May 16 onward, providing deeper insights into the culture and attractions of Onomichi.
Background of the Project
The inspiration behind this feature came from Onomichi's Fish Store, which specializes in producing and selling a delicious easy-to-make dish called "Nametake-chan Rice with Natural Sea Bream from Onomichi." They approached us with the idea of creating content that would highlight local seafood, in particular, the natural sea bream, while also showcasing the beauty of the Onomichi region.
In February 2022, Tanaka conducted a solo research trip to Onomichi. Following this, in March 2025, he, along with colleagues Go Ueda, Honoka Kano, and Tsubasa Hirose, spent four days exploring the city. Each team member documented their experiences, shedding light on the local culture and their delightful encounters.
Here are some highlights of the open content currently available:
