Reworld™ Unveils New Executive Appointments to Enhance Growth Strategy in Finance and HR

Reworld™ Announces Strategic Leadership Changes

Reworld™, a recognized leader in the domain of sustainable waste solutions, recently unveiled essential updates to its executive leadership team, signaling an ongoing commitment to fiscal stability and organizational excellence as the company embarks on its next growth phase.

New CFO: Paul Scherzer

Paul Scherzer has joined Reworld™ as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. With an extensive career spanning 25 years in investment banking and capital markets, Scherzer brings valuable expertise to his new role. Notably, he served as CFO of Stelco Holdings, a public entity located near Toronto, Canada. There, he successfully led the company’s acquisition by Cleveland-Cliffs. Scherzer has also held noteworthy investment banking positions at prominent firms like Credit Suisse and BNP Paribas, with a particular focus on metals and materials sectors.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario's Ivey Business School, Scherzer possesses an Honors Business Administration degree. Azeez Mohammed, President and CEO of Reworld™, has expressed high regard for Scherzer's financial acumen and leadership skills, deeming him a vital asset as the company aims for further scalability. In his role as CFO, Scherzer will directly report to Mohammed and manage core areas of the company's finance operations, which include corporate finance, accounting, treasury, investor relations, energy, metals, and corporate development.

Appointing a New CHRO: Amy Plasha

In addition to Scherzer's appointment, Amy Plasha has stepped into the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Reworld™. With over three decades of experience in human resources leadership, she has held significant positions, most recently acting as Chief People Officer at Vontier, where she managed global HR operations for 8,500 staff across seven companies.

Previously, she has occupied leading HR roles at Builders FirstSource, DBi Services, Performance Food Group, and Rodale. Plasha graduated with a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University. Mohammed emphasized Plasha’s extensive experience in building thriving, people-focused organizations, expressing confidence that she would be instrumental in nurturing and retaining top talent within Reworld™.

As CHRO, Plasha will also report to Mohammed and take charge of various HR functions, including talent management, employee engagement, and cultural initiatives. Both Plasha and Scherzer’s experience within public organizations is considered critical as Reworld™ prepares for its next advancement, which involves enhancing its engagement with public markets.

Leadership Transition and Strengthening the Organization

Plasha’s accession follows the successful seven-year tenure of Ginny Angilello, who will be stepping down. Moreover, Brendan Ferretti, who served as interim CFO over the past year, has transitioned into the role of EVP, CFO Operations.

These recent executive appointments significantly bolster Reworld™ as it advances its mission to deliver sustainable waste solutions while creating long-term value for its customers and stakeholders. With these strategic shifts within its leadership team, Reworld™ aims to further its objectives and sustainability goals effectively.
