XCMG's Hybrid Revolution in Construction Machinery
XCMG Machinery, a global leader in construction equipment, has recently made waves in the industry by introducing the world's first hybrid all-terrain crane, the
XCA60_EV. Launched during significant European trade events—the
Vertikal Days in the UK on September 10 and the
JDL Expo in France on September 17—the crane caught the attention of key stakeholders in the construction sector, marking a pivotal moment in sustainable construction technology.
The XCA60_EV Unveiled
This innovative all-terrain crane is specifically designed for European construction sites. What sets the
XCA60_EV apart is its unique oil-electric hybrid powertrain, designed to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to
40%. This launch represents XCMG's commitment to leading the way in sustainable machinery and next-generation lifting solutions, a trend increasingly embraced by the construction industry.
XCMG's strategy underscores their focus on sustainability, smart technology, and localized product development. Their new range of cranes targets the demanding construction conditions prevalent throughout Europe. By successfully addressing these needs, XCMG is solidifying their status as a reliable partner in aiding the transition to lower-emission fleets and revitalized urban infrastructures.
Features of the XCA60_EV and More
The hybrid crane comes equipped with a
400-V plug-and-play electric drive system, enabling fully emission-free lifting operations. Its
170-kW electric motor is complemented by a dual-motor transport system, delivering a total output of
400 kW. This combination not only enhances fuel savings but also maintains lifting capacity and reliability, a critical factor for construction operations.
Additionally, XCMG is promoting a range of compact, robust cranes from their G2 technology platform that are particularly well-suited for densely populated urban environments. Noteworthy models include the
XCA80G7-1E, featuring a compact footprint and tight turning radius, ideal for navigating crowded construction sites. Another standout, the
XCA250G7-1E, is designed for complex urban projects, capable of utilizing advanced remote operations and innovative telescopic mechanisms tailored for tight spaces. With
360-degree vision systems, both models enhance on-site safety and operator awareness, further emphasizing XCMG’s commitment to innovation.
Continuing Contributions to Europe
XCMG will showcase the
XCA60_EV at the upcoming
GIS Expo 2025 in Piacenza, Italy, where they will introduce another European-specific model, the
XCR50_E. With an impressively narrow construction width of just 2.5 meters, this crane meets EU transport standards, drastically improving accessibility and mobility on constrained job sites.
“XCMG is dedicated to advancing sustainable and intelligent infrastructure development across Europe. Our motto, 'Rooted in Europe, Committed to Europe,' reflects both our strategic focus and our commitment to our customers and the environment,” commented
Sun Jianzhong, Vice President of XCMG Construction Machinery and Managing Director of XCMG Crane.
This mission is already seeing results, as XCMG's low-emission cranes have secured significant orders from clients in Germany, France, the Netherlands, and other European markets, reinforcing regional trust in the advanced lifting equipment and customer-centric solutions provided by the company.
