Sports Nutrition Seminar: A Step Towards Enhanced Performance
On December 6, 2025, and February 14, 2026, the Tokyo-based TOMODZ conducted a series of sports nutrition seminars aimed at student athletes from Kawasaki Tachikawa High School. The initiative was designed to provide these young athletes with vital information on nutrition, hydration, and dietary strategies that could enhance their athletic performance.
Objectives of the Seminar
The primary goal of the seminar was to combine theoretical knowledge with practical insights, empowering participants to understand the correlation between dietary habits and athletic performance. Each session involved body composition analysis and grip strength testing facilitated by TOMODZ's registered dietitians. This process was intended to help students recognize their individual nutritional needs and how to integrate appropriate diet adjustments into their daily routines.
Seminar Details
First Session: December 6, 2025
- - Activities: Body composition measurement and grip strength tests were conducted.

Second Session: February 14, 2026
- - Activities: Follow-up body composition and grip strength re-evaluations, along with a snack work session and a protein quiz.
- - Educational Focus: Detailed guidance on nutritional timing around competitions: what to eat before, during, and after matches.
Participant Feedback
Participants expressed their appreciation for the insightful learning experiences:
- - “I now have a clear understanding of the specific foods and timing to eat around competitions, and I can't wait to implement this during practice matches.”
- - “The measurement results helped me visualize my challenges, prompting me to rethink my diet and snack choices.”
- - “I’m excited to try different ways to increase my weight in a healthy way to boost my performance.”
Achievements
The seminar successfully established a two-part model: gathering measurements, providing lectures and workshops, followed by re-evaluations. The outcomes included actionable points for improving dietary habits based on measurement data, focusing on both food content and timing. Furthermore, the initiative helped gather insights on additional needs, such as sleep, paving the way for continuous development of similar programs in the future.
