Lifenet Seimei Joins Tokyo Pride 2025
Lifenet Seimei Insurance Co., known for its commitment to inclusivity and diversity, proudly announces its participation in the "Tokyo Pride 2025 Pride Festival". This vibrant event will take place from June 7 to June 8, 2025, at Yoyogi Park, aimed at celebrating the diversity of gender and life alongside LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies.
Booth Overview
Lifenet Seimei will host an engaging booth at the festival featuring the "Rainbow Photo Project." This initiative encourages festival attendees to take photos at the booth, with Lifenet donating 100 yen for each photo taken. The collected funds will be used to purchase LGBTQ+ literature, which will then be donated to libraries and schools nationwide, enhancing understanding and awareness of LGBTQ+ issues among communities.
The festival offers free entry and will be held at the Event Square and Outdoor Stage in Yoyogi Park from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. For further details, attendees can visit the official Tokyo Pride 2025 website

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
At Lifenet Seimei, we believe in fostering a culture of respect, cooperation, and inclusivity. Our guiding principles are encapsulated in the "Lifenet Life Insurance Manifesto," which emphasizes the importance of diversity. We strive to adapt to changes through teamwork and respect for individual differences. We openly value diversity in our hiring practices, disregarding gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, nationality, and educational background as hiring criteria. Additionally, our workplace policies support both same-sex and opposite-sex partners, allowing the use of sick leave for partners, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity.
This year marks a decade since we first allowed policyholders to designate same-sex partners as beneficiaries of death benefits. Starting February 2024, policyholders will also be able to submit municipal partnership certificates to designate beneficiaries, streamlining the process.
Support from the Community
In light of our participation in the festival, we received an encouraging message from Nikuno Koji Nikuyo, an economist and drag queen. Nikuyo expressed gratitude for Lifenet's early efforts in allowing same-sex partners as beneficiaries, recognizing that such initiatives contribute significantly to the LGBTQ+ community's dignity without disadvantaging other insurance holders. As part of the Rainbow Photo Project at the festival, Nikuyo expressed hope that this initiative would bolster understanding and solidarity within the LGBTQ+ community.
Nikuno Koji Nikuyo is not only a celebrated drag queen but also a prominent figure in the LGBTQ+ community, having won the DIVAJAPAN drag queen national competition in 1999. Nikuyo actively promotes dignity and fashion in their presentations, advocating for inclusivity in all spheres of society.
