Unilumin's Multimedia Marvel at Osaka Expo 2025
In an outstanding showcase of innovation and culture, the China Pavilion at the Osaka Expo 2025 clinched the Gold Award, marking a historic achievement as it is the first time China has won such an accolade at an international exposition held abroad. The event, which took place on the evening of October 12, 2025, featured a remarkable array of self-built pavilions from around the world, with the China Pavilion standing out among 25 prestigious entries.
At the heart of this success was Unilumin, providing a comprehensive multimedia solution that included state-of-the-art LED displays, projectors, multimedia systems, and interactive technologies. The pavilion, themed “Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind and Nature,” was designed to bring the essence of Chinese wisdom into the spotlight using futuristic visual technology.
Visitors were captivated by poetic representations such as “Harmony between Man and Nature,” “Clear Waters and Lush Mountains,” and “Infinite Vitality,” brought to life through a creative combination of LED screens, projections, and interactive experiences utilizing radar systems. This innovative approach allowed attendees to feel as if they were journeying through time and embracing nature within an immersive space.
Unilumin’s team also ingeniously developed a “Cultural Digital Gene Bank,” transforming traditional Eastern elements like Chinese ink, silk, and scenic landscapes into a digital language. This helped create flexibility in their presentation throughout the expo. Coupled with an “Adaptive Ambient Light Adjustment System,” the interactive LED terminals achieved a seamless integration within the architectural space of the pavilion.
The international community has widely praised the success of the China Pavilion. Masayoshi Matsumoto, President of the Kansai Economic Federation, remarked that the pavilion vividly illustrates China's historical culture and technological achievements while effectively fostering exchanges between Japan and China.
Since opening, the China Pavilion has drawn nearly 2 million visitors globally, averaging over 10,000 attendees daily, making it one of the most visited national pavilions at the Osaka World Expo. As a sponsor of visual technology, Unilumin takes immense pride in contributing to the pavilion’s success on such a significant global stage.
Looking ahead, Unilumin is committed to focusing on its core strategy of “LED + AI” technology, driving the initiative of “Digital Vision Illuminates All Sectors.” The company aims to utilize technology as a means to narrate captivating and moving stories about China.
