Yutong Bus T15E Demonstrates Peerless Performance in Finland's Cold Challenge



In a stunning display of engineering and technology, Yutong Bus, a leading manufacturer in the commercial vehicle industry, has successfully completed an extreme cold endurance test for its T15E electric coach in Finland. Following earlier trials in Norway and Kazakhstan, this latest challenge showcased the vehicle's superior capabilities under harsh winter conditions, proving its readiness for diverse climates.

The intense test involved a journey from Oulu to Rovaniemi, covering a distance of 250 kilometers across winding, icy roads. Despite the temperatures dipping as low as -20°C, the T15E did not falter. The rigorous 2.5-hour drive assessed the coach's energy management, safety features, driving range, cornering proficiency, and hill-climbing ability.

Media representatives, Juho Akseli Käki and Tom Alexander Terjesen, praised the T15E for its precise handling, luxurious ride quality, and state-of-the-art features, including advanced suspension seats and ambient interior lighting. This reinforced Yutong's commitment to delivering a vehicle that not only performs but also offers unmatched comfort to passengers.

In the subsequent test, the T15E was driven over a longer stretch of 609.8 kilometers from Oulu to Helsinki. The results were remarkable as it completed the journey, with its battery charge dropping from full to just 2%, while maintaining an impressive energy consumption of only 0.94 kWh/km. This remarkable range capacity emphasizes the T15E's effectiveness in severe winter conditions.

Victor Wang, a product engineer at Yutong Bus, commented, "Through rigorous testing in Arctic ice and snow conditions, the Yutong T15E has proven its stability and performance in extreme cold environments, offering over 600 kilometers of range that addresses the needs of long-distance premium coach services."

The T15E’s ability to perform is attributed to its innovative technologies. It features a high-energy-density battery boasting a capacity of 630 kWh, complemented by a sophisticated liquid cooling and heating management system. This setup ensures optimal efficiency even in freezing conditions. Additionally, the electric coach employs a permanent magnet synchronous motor, reaching an impressive peak efficiency of 97.5%.

Further enhancing its energy conservation abilities, the T15E integrates Yutong’s self-developed energy recovery system and a low-temperature heat pump air conditioning system. This ensures reliable operation while minimizing energy consumption.

Operators will appreciate the T15E's swift charging capabilities. With megawatt-level rapid charging, the vehicle can be fully charged in just over one hour at compatible charging stations across Europe, providing significant convenience for long-distance travel.

Safety remains a significant focus for Yutong, and the T15E is equipped with numerous advanced safety features including an Electronic Braking System (EBS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS). These systems are designed to ensure dependable and efficient performance, making the T15E a standout choice for long-distance transportation.
