Northwest Pipe Company Unveils New Manufacturing Facility to Meet Infrastructure Demand
Northwest Pipe Company Boosts Production with New Facility
Northwest Pipe Company, a major player in the manufacture of water-related infrastructure products, recently announced the full-scale operation of its new precast concrete pipe plant located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This cutting-edge facility is designed to meet the mounting regional demand for high-quality infrastructure solutions, enhancing the company's operational capacity significantly.
State-of-the-Art Production Capabilities
The new facility occupies a substantial 41,000 square feet at the Geneva Pipe and Precast site and boasts a highly advanced automated production system known as the Exact 2500 from Schlüsselbauer Technology. This innovative drycast concrete production machine is touted as one of the most advanced in North America. In addition to that, the plant incorporates various sophisticated equipment such as the MBK Cage Welding Machine and an Advanced Concrete Technologies Batch Plant, all integrated into a seamless manufacturing process.
Scott Montross, President and CEO of Northwest Pipe Company, emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating, "The demand for high-quality infrastructure products continues to grow, and we are committed to expanding our precast manufacturing capabilities." He acknowledges that the Exact 2500 facilitates improved production efficiency, allowing for quick transitions between different pipe sizes while also maintaining high standards of quality.
Automation Revolutionizing Infrastructure Production
The Exact 2500 system significantly enhances production capacity while reducing the need for manual interventions. Compared to traditional manufacturing methods, this automated technology allows for rapid size adjustments with minimal downtime. Additionally, a centralized production management system coupled with fully automated material handling streamlines the overall process, ensuring consistent quality and speed in product delivery.
As Northwest Pipe Company continues to invest in its precast division, this latest facility represents a strategic move into the robust construction market of Utah. Previously, the company had upgraded its Orem plant with two other Schlüsselbauer systems, showcasing its commitment to staying at the forefront of manufacturing technologies and infrastructure solutions.
Strengthening Market Position
By investing significantly in this new manufacturing facility, Northwest Pipe Company is solidifying its role as a leader in the water and wastewater infrastructure sector. The company is known for producing a diverse array of products, including engineered water transmission systems, stormwater and wastewater technology solutions, and high-quality precast concrete products. With its headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, and 13 manufacturing locations spread across North America, Northwest Pipe Company is strategically positioned to meet the increasing infrastructure needs of various markets.
