PowerX Secures Order for Nikkō Battery Storage System

PowerX Inc., headquartered in Tamano City, Okayama, has announced a crucial order for its large-scale battery storage systems to be utilized at the newly established Nikkō Battery Facility in Tochigi Prefecture. This order consists of 72 units of the Mega Power 2500 system, which boasts a total storage capacity of 162.4 MWh. The project, led by Nikkō Battery LLC, aims to commence operations in 2029 and plays a significant role in stabilizing the power supply-demand balance in the Tokyo area by providing charging and discharging capabilities.

The Nikkō facility will facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance the use of sustainable energy across the region. This initiative has been selected for the "Fiscal Year 2027 Renewable Energy Introduction Expansion and System Support Project," under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

This order marks the third deployment of PowerX’s battery systems funded by Bumpujapan Inc., following installations in Fukushima Prefecture and Miyazaki Prefecture. Cumulatively, this brings their total deployed units to 152.
