Kan Sakurai, born in 1954 in Nagano Prefecture, has dedicated his life to capturing the beauty of trains. His work, including The Railway World Dream Journey, has earned him accolades, adding to a portfolio of over 114 published books on trains and travel. He is a member of the Japan Photographers Association and the Japan Travel Writers Association, and currently serves as a guest professor at Tokyo Transport Short-Term University.
