Whipsaw Launches New Accelerator Cohort for Innovative Hardware Startups

Whipsaw, a distinguished design and innovation firm recognized for its inventive solutions like Tonal and Brita, recently unveiled the latest iteration of its hardware accelerator program, known as 'The Workshop.' This initiative, which began with its first cohort in 2025, aims to support early-stage hardware founders by providing them with unique access to industry expertise and resources. The current 10-week cohort commenced in September 2026 and focuses on startups that are developing innovative products in areas such as health, wellness, and home.

Unlike traditional accelerator programs that often emphasize lectures and pitching, The Workshop promotes a more hands-on, collaborative environment. Founders will interact directly with Whipsaw's multidisciplinary team, including industrial designers, engineers, and brand experts, who will guide them in transforming their product concepts into investor-ready realities.

This year’s cohort will benefit from numerous activities designed to enhance their product vision. Participants are set to engage in weekly seminars for pitch practice, 11 dedicated design sessions with Whipsaw's team, and receive individualized coaching on leadership and fundraising from Principal Advisor, Cristina Georgoulakis. Furthermore, they will have access to a network of trusted engineers and go-to-market experts, in addition to joining a growing community of hardware founders who have participated in past iterations of The Workshop.

By the conclusion of this intensive program, founders are expected to present a cohesive product concept, a compelling brand narrative, and an investor-ready pitch deck. This culminates in the highly anticipated Demo Day, an invite-only event scheduled for December 2026 at Whipsaw's San Francisco studio, where founders will showcase their innovations to a carefully selected audience of investors and industry partners.

The Workshop’s impact can be seen through the experience of past participants, with one founder noting, "The speed of this 10-week program is moving us further than a year of working alone." This accelerating progress underscores the efficacy of Whipsaw's approach to nurturing new talent in the hardware space.

The operating team for The Workshop includes industry leaders such as Dan Harden, CEO and Principal Designer, Walker Harden, Director of Experience Design, and Cole Derby, VP Industrial Design, among others. Beneath their guidance, alongside additional advisors who bring expertise in fundraising and storytelling, the current cohort is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of bringing their products to market.

For those interested in future cohorts or for insights on the ongoing program, Whipsaw offers details on their dedicated webpage. The Workshop aims not just to accelerate startup growth but also to redefine how hardware solutions are developed in the modern market. By leveraging the experience of established professionals, Whipsaw is fostering an ecosystem where innovative ideas can transform into viable products that meet consumer needs. This progressive model highlights the direction of startup accelerators in the tech and design sectors today, ensuring that the next generation of hardware creators is well-prepared for success in a competitive landscape.
