Renge Shokudo Toshu, a popular Chinese restaurant in Japan, will introduce two new dishes featuring the exquisite flavors of XO sauce starting from April 1, 2026. The restaurant is a part of the Origin Toshu Company, known for its dedication to high-quality Chinese cuisine. The dishes, Vegetable XO Sauce Yakisoba and Shrimp XO Sauce Fried Rice, promise to tantalize the taste buds with their unique combination of ingredients and flavors.

What is XO Sauce?

Hailing from Hong Kong, XO sauce is a savory condiment made from dried shrimp, dried scallops, chili peppers, and various spices. The result is a complex flavor profile that offers both spiciness and umami depth. It's a favorite in many Chinese kitchens and is known for elevating dishes to new heights.

The New Dishes

1. Vegetable XO Sauce Yakisoba
- Price: 660 yen (726 yen including tax) for dine-in, 670 yen (723.60 yen including tax) for takeout.
- This creation features a variety of fresh vegetables, meeting half of the daily recommended vegetable intake. The ingredients are stir-fried quickly in a high-heat Chinese wok, allowing the vegetables to retain their vibrant textures. The specialized yakisoba sauce perfectly complements the XO sauce, resulting in a satisfying and flavorful dish.

2. Shrimp XO Sauce Fried Rice
- Price: 960 yen (1,056 yen including tax) for dine-in, 970 yen (1,047.60 yen including tax) for takeout.
- This dish includes fluffy scrambled eggs topped with succulent shrimp. The addition of XO sauce contributes to a deeper, richer flavor, making each bite indulgent.

Both dishes can be enjoyed at the restaurant or ordered for takeout, allowing patrons to savor the authentic flavors of Chinese cuisine at home or on the go. For the vegetable content, Renge Shokudo Toshu ensures that approximately half of the recommended intake of vegetables (350g or more) is included in each serving.
