AlphaESS Recognized as Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturer by BloombergNEF for Fifth Consecutive Quarter

AlphaESS Maintains Tier 1 Status

In an impressive feat, AlphaESS has been recognized by BloombergNEF (BNEF) as a Tier 1 manufacturer in the energy storage systems category for the fifth consecutive quarter. This accolade demonstrates AlphaESS's commitment to excellence and highlights its growing influence in the global energy storage market, particularly in large-scale projects.

Recent Developments and Stringent Criteria

For this quarter, BNEF has instituted stricter criteria for bankable financing, requiring energy storage equipment suppliers to demonstrate prior experience with projects backed by non-recourse financing from at least two commercial banks. AlphaESS's continued placement on this prestigious list indicates to developers, investors, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partners that it remains a prominent player in the energy storage sector, offering reliable references when considering equipment suppliers.

Expanding Projects Across Europe

AlphaESS is on a promising trajectory, actively expanding large-scale energy storage projects throughout Europe. Recent initiatives in Lithuania, Austria, and Germany collectively achieve a capacity of 200 MWh. In Lithuania, a 120 MWh battery energy storage project utilizing the AlphaESS Aster 5000 system successfully passed its Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and is now ready for dispatch. Meanwhile, in Austria, AlphaESS supplied a DC battery system for a 30 MW / 60 MWh project in Hörsching, integrating solar energy generation, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, and supporting transmission network services. Notably, a portion dedicated to network services with a capacity of 40 MWh was commissioned in September 2026. In Germany, AlphaESS is delivering a DC battery system for a 20 MWh project in Bavaria aimed at balancing the grid and enabling energy arbitrage, expected to go live in 2027.

Aster 5000 Technology Overview

To support its portfolio of utility-scale projects, AlphaESS offers the Aster 5000, a liquid-cooled battery storage system housed in a 20-foot container, delivering approximately 5 MWh capacity per unit. This system features intelligent temperature management, an advanced battery management system, and multi-level safety protections designed for flexible deployment in utility applications, including grid stabilization and renewable energy integration. These projects underscore AlphaESS's growing capability to deliver scalable energy storage solutions tailored to diverse market needs.
