Are you interested in diving deep into the game industry? The VIPO Academy, powered by the Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO), is hosting a special seminar on January 21, 2026. This event is part of the Academy's Basic Industry Research Course, designed to impart foundational knowledge about the content industry.

Seminar Overview

The Game Industry Strategy Seminar will run from 6:30 PM to 9:10 PM (JST) and will include an exclusive networking session for attendees present at the venue from 9:10 PM to 9:40 PM. You can choose to attend either online via Zoom or in person at the VIPO location in Chuo, Tokyo, though physical seats are already filled, and the current registration is exclusively for online participation.

What to Expect

The seminar is structured into two parts.

- Part 1: Industry Analysis (6:35 PM - 7:35 PM)

Expert speaker Kazuhiro Hirabayashi, the CEO of Interact and a noted game analyst, will present insights into the latest trends and challenges facing the game industry, including market structure, risks, and the evolving landscape of game production and international partnerships.

- Part 2: Case Studies (7:45 PM - 9:10 PM)

Attendees will learn from real-world implementations presented by industry insiders.
- The first case will be delivered by Akira Takatori, a part-time lecturer at Tsukuba University and CEO of Altair, focusing on growth strategies and opportunities in the Middle East for Japanese content and e-sports initiatives.
- The second case presented by Sho Sato, from the International Game Developers Association, will address the state of indie games in Japan and their positioning in Steam's marketplace.
