Support for Single-Parent Families: Housing Consultation Event in Itabashi
In an effort to assist single-parent families in their search for housing, the Tokyo Housing Supply Corporation, also known as JKK Tokyo, will host the “Housing Consultation Event for Single-Parent Families.” This event is scheduled for August 9, 2023, with support from Itabashi Ward. This initiative marks the second collaboration between JKK and the local government to provide essential housing information and services.

The consultation event is specifically tailored for single-parent families residing in Itabashi. The services offered at the event will include introductions to JKK housing, consultation on applications for occupancy, and information on various support programs designed to assist single-parent households.
Target Participants
The event welcomes:
- - Single-parent families currently living in Itabashi.
- - Individuals expecting to become single parents, as long as they have children under the age of 20.
Reservation and Capacity
The event has a limit of 20 groups, and prior reservation is required to attend. Interested participants can reserve their spot on a first come, first served basis through the JKK Tokyo website. The reservation period runs from July 6, 2023, to August 6, 2023.

- Receiving inquiries regarding occupancy in JKK housing.
- Providing information on occupancy support initiatives for single-parent families.
- Accepting applications for occupancy in JKK housing. A limited number of prioritized units will be available for application on-site.

Relaxed Income Screening: For those who do not meet the monthly income criteria required for JKK housing, allowances such as child-rearing benefits can be added to their income during the eligibility review. Additionally, a relative’s income can also be considered for evaluation as a guarantor under certain conditions.

Rent Reduction Program: JKK offers a 20% discount on rent for a specific group of residential units, along with one month of free rent from the start date of the contract.
