To tackle the conventional challenges faced in blood delivery, such as traffic congestion and delayed emergency responses, the innovators launched an advanced drone delivery solution in the city of Anyang. This initiative operates within a sprawling urban airspace of 1,200 square kilometers, featuring ten delivery routes that extend up to 15 kilometers, effectively serving multiple hospitals throughout the city. The network has grown to facilitate over 50 drone flights daily, becoming the largest low-altitude medical supply drone network in the industry. The drones are utilized to transport various critical medical items, including blood products, laboratory samples, pathological sections, emergency medications, and surgical materials.

Data on operational performance reveal significant enhancements; the average delivery time for blood bags has been reduced from 40 minutes to just 15 minutes, demonstrating a remarkable increase in efficiency of 60%. This substantial reduction in delivery time has directly improved emergency response rates in hospitals, optimized surgical scheduling, and minimized blood wastage. Consequently, this has led to a 20% decrease in blood bag costs for hospitals and a 10% cost reduction for patients, resulting in significant medical, economic, and social benefits.

The success of this solution is rooted in the integrated 5G sensor technology that provides adequate communication support and safety surveillance for drone operations. Network performance tests have confirmed the system's capability to monitor the exact positioning and flight status of multiple drones simultaneously without hampering detection accuracy. This validation highlights the commercial potential of integrated 5G sensor and communication technology at low altitudes.
