GAC Group Expands European Presence with AION V Launch in Finland
On September 23, 2025, GAC Group officially launched the AION V, their strategic electric crossover, in Finland. This marks Finland as the third European market for GAC's vehicles and is a pivotal point in the company's European market penetration plan, further solidifying the presence of high-quality Chinese electric vehicles in Northern Europe.
The introduction of the AION V to the Finnish market is crucial to GAC's overall European strategy, which gained momentum after a global partnership agreement was signed with Inchcape during the 2024 Paris Motor Show. This collaboration leverages Inchcape's extensive sales and service networks along with GAC's cutting-edge technology, allowing Finnish and European consumers to benefit from the strengths of both companies. Finland serves as the inaugural market for their partnership, with further expansions into other European countries planned.
Designed with Finland's sustainability, safety, and spaciousness priorities in mind, the AION V provides impressive technological advantages and user-friendly features. The vehicle has received a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating for 2025, confirming its leading status in automotive safety. With a range of 510 km based on WLTP testing and ultra-fast charging capabilities (taking just 24 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%), the AION V effectively alleviates range anxiety for electric vehicle owners, especially with the growing network of charging stations in Finland.
Offering a roomy interior through its 2775mm wheelbase and a 427-liter trunk, the AION V caters to various lifestyles, ranging from family road trips to outdoor adventures. For long-term reliability, the model is backed by an 8-year (160,000 km) warranty on the vehicle and an 8-year (200,000 km) warranty on the battery, ensuring customers experience durability and reduced ownership costs. The new model is competitively priced while offering a host of high-end features, positioning the AION V as an appealing option within the Northern European electric vehicle market.
Since announcing its European market expansion plan at the Paris Motor Show, GAC has identified Europe as a principal strategic market, swiftly entering Poland, Portugal, and now Finland. By 2028, GAC aims to achieve full market penetration across Europe, supported by continuous efforts to develop distribution channels, improve service systems, and integrate production chains. With an expanding product portfolio and enhanced support networks, GAC is well-positioned to offer European customers unique and valuable transportation services, playing a significant role in the global evolution of the automotive industry.
