J. Mattingly 1845 Distillery Pays Tribute to Navy SEAL Foundation with Exclusive Whiskeys
In a momentous partnership, J. Mattingly 1845 Distillery has joined forces with the Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF) to celebrate the foundation's 25th anniversary. This collaboration sees the launch of the exclusive Trident Collection, featuring three expertly crafted double-staved American whiskeys named "Sea," "Air," and "Land"—each honoring the unique environments in which Navy SEALs operate.
Founded in 2000, the Navy SEAL Foundation serves as a vital resource for warriors, veterans, and their families involved in Naval Special Warfare. Its mission is supported by numerous programs aimed at fostering strength, resilience, health, education, and community among these brave individuals. This year marks a significant milestone as the foundation celebrates 25 years of commitment to its cause.
As part of the Trident Collection, each whiskey has its own distinct personality, reflective of the elements that define the Navy SEAL ethos:
1.
Sea Edition: This five-year-old Kentucky bourbon is bottled at an impressive 127 proof. Made from a mash bill consisting of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley, it offers a harmonious blend of flavors. Tasting notes reveal hints of baking spices, seasoned oak, and a long finish imbued with spiced cherry—a true representation of the maritime spirit.
2.
Air Edition: Distilled in 2016 and bottled at 129 proof, this nine-year-old light whiskey showcases J. Mattingly's innovative double-staved process, utilizing ex-bourbon casks for added depth. With a mash bill of 99% corn and 1% malted barley, it presents robust flavors of crème brûlée crust, yellow cake, and graham cracker, finishing with a delightful maple syrup and oak combination.
3.
Land Edition: The final offering in the collection is a five-year-old rye whiskey, bottled at 119 proof. Crafted from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, it features subtle spices of black pepper and green apple, concluding with baking spices that create a nuanced taste experience.
Harry Richardt IV, president of J. Mattingly 1845 Distillery, expressed honor at being selected for this meaningful initiative. “We have tremendous respect for our military branches,” he stated, underscoring the privilege of partnering with the NSF.
The Trident Collection will be available for pre-order starting today, with shipping set to commence on March 3rd. Individual bottles are priced at $155, while the entire collection can be purchased for $425 with complimentary shipping. Additionally, a limited number of bottles will be available for purchase at the distillery’s Frankfort location.
In support of the NSF, J. Mattingly 1845 Distillery is pledging to donate $30 from each bottle sold. This initiative reflects both a commitment to craftsmanship and a deep appreciation for those who serve in the Navy SEAL community.
