This March, the prestigious InterContinental Tokyo Bay will host an exclusive two-day event focused on cultivating table etiquette for families. Set against the backdrop of the exquisite fine-dining restaurant La Provence, this workshop promises to be an enriching experience for both parents and children.

An Educational and Culinary Delight



Supervised by Akihiro Shoji, the restaurant manager and sommelier, this workshop aims to teach the fundamental aspects of proper table manners. Participants will engage in a comprehensive lesson covering everything from the history and significance of dining etiquette to the correct handling of cutlery and proper dining postures. The interactive nature of this workshop ensures that learning will be enjoyable, as families will savor a meticulously crafted French multi-course meal together.

Engaging Activities



The workshop will not only include formal lessons but also feature fun elements such as a flambé performance by the chef and an engaging table manners quiz for families. These activities are designed to create a relaxed and welcoming environment, making the learning process enjoyable and memorable.

Take-Home Gifts



As a token of participation, all children attending the workshop will receive a certificate of completion and a Table Manners Book. This unique experience is an excellent way for families to celebrate milestones such as transitions to junior high, high school, or college.

  • - Cost: ¥16,000 per parent-child pair (Adult: ¥9,500, Child: ¥6,500, tax and service charge included). Additional guests may join for the same fee.
  • - Dining Experience: Attendees will delight in a curated dining experience featuring a summer vegetable aspic, cauliflower potage, beef Burgundy stew, and a strawberry tart served with vanilla ice cream, paired with an appropriate beverage.
  • - Target Audience: Open to children from 3rd grade up to high school students and their guardians.
  • - Capacity: Limited to 12 pairs (44 guests total) per day.
