The Arrival of Idan Rubin at The Brattle Group
The Brattle Group has officially welcomed Idan Rubin to its London office as a Senior Consultant. His vast expertise encompasses critical areas such as Bankruptcy and Restructuring, Alternative Investments, Credit Derivatives, and Structured Products. With a career spanning over 15 years in the financial services realm, Rubin brings a deep knowledge base and a rich background to the firm.
In his role at Brattle, Rubin is set to tackle a wide variety of complex financial matters. His expertise includes not only mergers and acquisitions (M&A) but extends to fund-related disputes covering critical issues like investor communications, performance fees, misrepresentation claims, and regulatory compliance. He has extensive experience in valuation techniques, hedge fund structuring, portfolio construction, risk management, investor relations, as well as the analysis and development of trading strategies, and has worked across various asset classes including cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Torben Voetmann, the President and Managing Director of Brattle, expressed optimism about Rubin's addition, stating, "With his extensive industry experience, entrepreneurial mindset, and analytical rigor, Idan brings a unique skill set to Brattle that will significantly enhance our ability to support clients facing high-stakes financial disputes in the UK and across Europe."
Rubin's career path is notably marked by his involvement in the establishment of two successful quantitative hedge funds, where he oversaw operations from capital sourcing to trading execution. Additionally, he advised on the launch of another fund, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of hedge fund operations, policies, and best practices. His asset management experience spans numerous strategies across both public and private markets, and he has leveraged his technical skills to create and analyze signals, strategies, and AI models.
Rubin comments on his new position, saying, "I look forward to collaborating with colleagues in London and across other countries to enhance Brattle’s presence in the UK and Europe in commercial litigation, helping clients navigate complex challenges related to damages, insolvency, M&A, and fund disputes."
Before joining Brattle, Rubin served as a Senior Equity Analyst at a firm specializing in investment counsel for emerging market equities. His previous roles include serving as a portfolio manager at a European government bond-focused market-making hedge fund. Between those roles, he co-founded Sayer Capital in 2017, a quantitative US equity market-making fund backed by a top-tier investor, where he oversaw research, investor relations, budget planning, and portfolio management up until 2021.
This strategic hire is anticipated to bolster Brattle's advisory capabilities and significantly improve its standing in dealing with disputes in financial services, an area increasingly critical in today’s dynamic market environment.
