At the recent C&R 2025 exhibition in Madrid, Midea Building Technologies (MBT) captured significant attention by revealing their latest energy-efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions. This showcase included the international debut of their next-generation R32 VRF system, alongside revolutionary products such as the MagBoost Apex Pro magnetic centrifugal chiller and the Mars R290 ATW large heat pump. Next-Generation R32 VRF System

The new R32 VRF system represents a cutting-edge solution aimed at commercial buildings. Notably, it features a fully enclosed electric cabinet rated IP68, using refrigerant phase-change cooling to achieve 3.5 times the cooling capacity compared to traditional designs. Its G-type heat exchanger, functioning efficiently at temperatures up to 310°C, allows for a remarkable 32% increase in heat exchange intensity across the same surface area. Mars R290 ATW Heat Pump

The Mars Large R290 ATW heat pump, another highlight at the event, is an environmentally-friendly solution utilizing R290 refrigerant, which has a minimal global warming potential (GWP) and zero ozone depletion potential (ODP). This heat pump is capable of heating water to 85°C even under low ambient temperature conditions. Its compact design, occupying just 1.96 m², delivers heating outputs between 50 to 70 kW, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications. Additionally, a four-side accessible panel facilitates easy maintenance, making this unit ideal for both residential and commercial sectors.

Innovative Centrifugal Chiller

The MagBoost Apex Pro magnetic centrifugal chiller also garnered praise for its advanced features and design. Utilizing technologies such as magnetic bearings, microchannel VFD cooling, and two-phase compression, this chiller operates quietly while maintaining high efficiency across various applications. It proves to be an exemplary solution for data centers and large commercial projects, promising lowered energy consumption and reduced operational costs.

Solutions like the EasyFit VRF and the Quantum series offer flexible installation options for commercial spaces, while the Ultra-High Temperature Magnetic Water Vapor Compressor efficiently provides steam at temperatures between 150-200 °C, ideal for industrial applications.

The AquaThermal Max Inverter Air-Cooled Scroll Heat Pump, which uses R32 refrigerant, was also part of this impressive showcase, emphasizing eco-friendly features and ease of maintenance, making it a fitting choice for a range of commercial and industrial applications.

In Estonia's Mercedes-Benz showroom, eight outdoor units of the Mars Large R290 heat pump provide stable, efficient, and low-carbon heating and hot water solutions throughout the year.
