Going Launches Price Drop Feature to Enhance Flight Booking Experience
In a groundbreaking move for travelers, Going, the popular flight deals app that has been simplifying airfare savings for over 10 million users since 2015, has introduced an exciting new feature called
Price Drop. This innovative addition allows members to track the price of their booked flights, ensuring they get the best possible deal even after making a reservation.
Understanding Price Drop
The Price Drop feature monitors changes in airfare for flights that members have already booked. This functionality not only alerts users when the price of their fare decreases but also provides guidance on how to take advantage of these savings. Travelers who have utilized this feature report an average savings of
approximately $150 per ticket, a remarkable benefit for those wanting to maximize their travel budget.
David Krauter, CEO of Going, highlights the importance of this tool for travelers. “Many travelers face the dilemma of locking in a fare or waiting for the possibility of a better deal,” he explains. “Price Drop alleviates that stress by continuously monitoring fares even after a booking is made. If the price drops significantly, we promptly notify our members, allowing them to act accordingly.”
How It Works
For
Premium and Elite members of Going, this service adds extra value to their subscription. Users can monitor up to five previously booked flights. When a price reduction of
at least 10% is detected, the member receives an alert indicating the new fare, along with detailed instructions on how to rebook or claim the savings, typically in the form of airline credit for future travel. This process simplifies the often cumbersome task of navigating fare changes.
Members have already expressed their satisfaction with the service. One user noted, “I found that my current fare was $298 less than what I originally paid!” The ease and potential savings provided by Price Drop are making waves among frequent fliers and casual travelers alike.
Building on Past Innovations
This new feature is a natural extension of Going’s commitment to helping users secure the best travel deals. It builds on the Trip Alerts functionality launched in 2025, which notifies members about fare fluctuations before they book. Together, these two features provide assurance and support to travelers at every stage of their journey.
“Travelers seek confidence and clarity, not just when they are deciding whether to book a flight, but throughout their entire experience,” Krauter adds. Price Drop enhances the value of Going memberships, ensuring users never pay more than necessary for their flights.
The Science Behind It
In a survey conducted by Going,
95% of respondents indicated they often worry about the timing of their flight purchases, reinforcing the need for services that offer reassurance and clarity. Price Drop specifically tracks round-trip cash fares booked with a single airline, offering tailored advice depending on fare rules and change options. In cases where rebooking isn’t feasible, Going ensures that its members are fully informed about available alternatives.
