About Teruko Kobayashi

Teruko Kobayashi was born in 1935 and has dedicated her life to beauty research. She is recognized as the founder of the natural makeup movement and contributed to the development of groundbreaking products, including the world’s first powder foundation. After founding her own company in 1991, she popularized the concept of thermo-cold beauty and established makeup academies to mentor aspiring makeup artists.

In addition to her professional achievements, Kobayashi founded the Amaterasu Academia, an organization aimed at nurturing the next generation of female leaders. In 2023, she became the representative director of the Japan Makeup Artists Association, solidifying her impact on the beauty industry.
