Tencent Cloud Champions European Enterprises' AI Growth at Viva Technology 2025

At the renowned Viva Technology 2025 event, Europe’s largest tech gathering, Tencent Cloud has placed a spotlight on the vital transition of businesses towards interconnected platforms and multi-cloud strategies. This progressive shift is emphasized as essential for fully harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) to stimulate innovation and ensure global competitiveness among European enterprises.

During a panel discussion on “AI Beyond Scale: Building Competitive and Sustainable Ecosystems,” Dowson Tong, the Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent and CEO of its Cloud Smart Industries Group, articulated that the trajectory of AI involves more than just growth. He expressed that the deeper integration of AI into various industries and everyday life is set to transform operational methods and enhance user experiences significantly.

"The next phase of AI promises more than just operational efficiency," Tong stated. "To unlock its full potential and remain globally competitive, European enterprises must adopt an ecosystem-driven approach. By drawing on deep ecosystem expertise, businesses can accelerate time-to-value, deploying and building AI components from customer service agents and knowledge engines to industry-specific AI solutions."

Tong further highlighted that a modular, multi-cloud strategy aids in fostering scalable innovation while ensuring operational efficiency, all founded on secure and scalable digital infrastructure. As AI continues to reshape business paradigms, it’s essential for European organizations to maintain robust, versatile, and diverse cloud infrastructures. In fact, a recent Gartner report projects that 90% of organizations will embrace a hybrid cloud strategy by 2027.

Tencent Cloud is committed to supporting this transition throughout Europe with cutting-edge AI and cloud solutions. This includes facilitating seamless connectivity to emerging regions, empowering businesses to turn their AI aspirations into practical outcomes and sustain a competitive edge.

In conjunction with the event, telecommunications giant Orange debuted a soft launch of its upgraded Max It super app. This app aims to provide a superior lifestyle experience for its 160 million mobile customers across the Middle East and Africa (MEA). Beginning in June 2025, users will have access to shopping, service exploration, utility payments, and event ticket bookings all through a consolidated mini-app interface.

The Orange super app, which integrates Tencent’s Mini App solution (TCMPP), is enhanced by Tencent Cloud’s real-time chat capabilities. Users are offered a holistic experience that enables chatting, fund transfers, and engagement within the app, setting it apart from other telecommunications or e-commerce applications currently available.

The latest version now features over 20 new mini apps across various sectors, including utilities and retail. This ecosystem is anticipated to expand rapidly, with aspirations to onboard over 100,000 partners to develop and integrate additional mini-apps ahead of a broader launch.

Beyond its contributions to telecommunications and lifestyle applications, Tencent Cloud is driven by the potential of AI to bolster global competitiveness for enterprises in diverse industries. In healthcare, Tencent is pioneering AI-driven solutions that offer groundbreaking tools for medical professionals while empowering patients with enhanced health-management capabilities. During a panel titled “The Intelligent Ally: How Is AI Reshaping Medical Practice?”, Dr. Alex Ng, President of Tencent Healthcare, noted how the company is transforming the healthcare landscape by effectively bridging gaps between international pharmaceutical firms and local health systems through advanced digital platforms.

From deploying Hunyuan-powered medical consultation services across 10,000 institutions in China to analyzing over 10 million medical scans through AI-enabled imaging, Tencent Cloud's healthcare solutions are comprehensive, aimed at enhancing early detection, operational efficacy, and building patient trust.

Notably, Tencent Cloud also assisted French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi in expanding its operations in China by establishing a centralized data lake and unified digital platform. This initiative has streamlined operations across different territories and empowered the organization to grow sustainably within the Chinese market.

Apart from healthcare innovations, Tencent Cloud's capabilities span gaming, digital content, payments, and platform technologies, continuing to support some of Europe’s leading brands, such as Bosch and Electronic Arts, in achieving their objectives. Tencent maintains a collaborative network with over 11,000 global and local partners, offering upwards of 400 diverse solutions across 30 industrial sectors—utilized by more than 10,000 enterprises across 200 markets globally—signalling Tencent's commitment to responsible and sustainable innovation during this era of AI.
