Dynamsoft Unveils Version 19.0 of Dynamic Web TWAIN with Enhanced Document Scanning and PDF Features

Dynamsoft Launches Dynamic Web TWAIN Version 19.0

Dynamsoft recently rolled out version 19.0 of its acclaimed Dynamic Web TWAIN SDK, introducing significant advancements aimed at optimizing web-based document scanning. This latest release promises not only to enhance user experience but also to enhance the efficiency of developers integrating document scanning into their applications.

Enhanced RESTful API for Cross-Platform Support

One of the hallmark features of this update is the improvement in RESTful API support, which is critical for developing scalable applications that can function seamlessly across different platforms and programming languages. The new RESTful APIs augment the existing JavaScript SDK, which is excellent for delivering rich scanning functionalities in web browsers.

With this advancement, developers can now integrate document scanning capabilities using popular programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, and PHP. The flexibility of the RESTful API allows developers to capture scanned documents as image file streams, sidestepping the need for a built-in viewer. Instead, developers have the option of merging these images into existing viewers or leveraging the built-in viewer offered by the Dynamic Web TWAIN SDK. This flexibility ensures a cohesive and streamlined user experience, regardless of the application.

Innovative PDF Size Preservation Feature

Another standout feature introduced in version 19.0 is the new PDF size preservation capability. In earlier versions of Dynamic Web TWAIN, documents were rasterized for display and saved as image PDFs, which was effective but led to increased file sizes and less efficient storage and transmission. The new 'preserveUnmodifiedOnSave' API in the PDF Rasterizer Add-On changes this by allowing PDFs to retain their original structure and compression when re-saved without page-level edits.

This means no unnecessary rasterization takes place, thereby significantly reducing file sizes and enhancing processing speeds. This is particularly beneficial in automated workflows, compliance scenarios, and long-term document archiving, where maintaining document fidelity and managing file sizes efficiently are crucial.

A Statement from Dynamsoft's CEO

Amy Gu, the CEO of Dynamsoft, expressed enthusiasm for the new updates: "With Dynamic Web TWAIN 19.0, we are making document scanning more accessible and versatile than ever. By expanding RESTful API support, developers can seamlessly integrate scanning into a wider range of applications, reaching more users across different environments."

Availability and Support

Dynamic Web TWAIN version 19.0 can be purchased directly from the Dynamsoft website. Furthermore, developers can try the SDK by downloading a trial version that includes a 30-day trial license. In addition to the software, Dynamsoft offers award-winning technical support through multiple channels including email, live chat, web meetings, and phone support.
