Exploring Opportunities in Space Business and Ground Issue Solutions

Unlocking the Future of Space Business

On February 19, 2026, the Japan Planning Institute (JPI) is set to host an insightful seminar featuring Satoshi Kurosu, the CEO of Kurosu Space & Sustainability LLC. This event will delve into the opportunities for entering the space business and address practical solutions for terrestrial issues, underscoring the importance of cross-industry technological applications.

In recent years, the establishment of a 1 trillion yen space strategy fund, along with significant projects like the manned pressurized rover development by JAXA and Toyota, has propelled private enterprises into the cosmic realm. However, many companies still grapple with the extended timelines required for space project development and are unsure how to initiate their ventures.

Satoshi Kurosu brings invaluable expertise from his tenure at Yokogawa Electric, where he played key roles in international business development, marketing, product development, and management, while also overseeing sustainability initiatives. After establishing a space business division, he founded Kurosu Space & Sustainability LLC, focusing on leveraging space-derived technologies to solve problems on Earth.

The seminar will cover essential topics, including:
