Trina Storage Enhances Global Market Reliability with Dual Certification

Trina Storage Strengthens Global Reliability with Dual Certification

In a significant move that underscores its leadership in the energy storage market, Trina Storage, a global provider of energy storage products and solutions, has achieved dual certification from two leading international organizations, DNV and UL Solutions. This dual recognition reflects the high standards of safety, reliability, and bankability of its products. Additionally, Trina Storage was recognized as a 'Key Market Supplier' in Europe in the first quarter 'Battery Storage Tech Bankability Rating Report' published by PV Tech Research, thereby enhancing its market presence.

Dual Certification Validates Product Technology and Reliability

Trina Storage’s flagship product, the Elementa 2, is available in two models with capacities of 4MWh and 5MWh. The 4MWh model features 306Ah cells and has undergone comprehensive assessments by DNV, complying with international standards such as UL 1973, IEC 62619, and IEC 63056, as well as passing the thermal runaway test as per UL 9540A. Its design incorporates a multilayer battery management system (BMS), intelligent fire protection, and liquid cooling temperature control, ensuring safe and stable system operations.

The 5MWh model uses 314Ah cells and has been certified based on assessments from UL Solutions, meeting key standards including UL 1973, IEC 62619, UN38.3, and UL 9540A. Similar to the 4MWh model, it includes a multilayer BMS, an automatic fire extinguishing system, and a liquid cooling system, further enhancing reliability.

In addition, the expert teams from DNV and UL Solutions visited Trina Storage’s manufacturing facility in Chuzhou, conducting strict on-site audits on smart manufacturing lines, quality control systems, and supply chain management. These audits confirmed high levels of automation and stable product quality at this facility.

Enhanced Presence in the European Market

Not only recognized for the high reliability of its products and solutions, but Trina Storage's market competitiveness and solid management foundation have also received international acknowledgment. In the 'Battery Storage Tech Bankability Report' released by PV Tech Research on April 16, 2025, Trina Storage was upgraded in its evaluation and selected as a 'Key Market Supplier' in Europe. This selection highlights the steady deployment of its operations in strategic markets across Europe, including the UK, Germany, and Italy.

The report noted that Trina Storage excelled in production capacity, shipment volume, financial soundness, and bankability. Its integrated in-house development system through the Elementa series and exceptional project execution capabilities were highly praised.

Financially, backed by its publicly listed parent company, Trina Solar, Trina Storage benefits from stable financing capabilities, robust cash flow management, and an aggressive investment posture. This positions the company for further growth as a core of the group’s diversified revenue.

Trina Storage aims to continue contributing toward a sustainable society through the provision of high-quality, safe, and efficient energy storage solutions in collaboration with global partners.
