In a recent announcement made on September 10, 2025, DXC Technology detailed how its deployment of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and EPM systems has significantly modernized Meridian Energy's existing financial operations. The new system not only streamlines financial reporting and procurement processes but also supports the organization's strategic goals for future growth.

Understanding Meridian Energy’s Transition

Meridian Energy, New Zealand's largest producer and retailer of renewable energy, recognized the need to move away from its outdated and heavily customized financial systems. The focus was on unifying their finance teams and improving project planning capabilities while creating a more seamless procurement process.

The implementation of the Oracle SaaS ERP system provided a comprehensive solution that improved project visibility for around 200 managers, standardizing procurement procedures through stringent policies like “no purchase order, no payment.” Additionally, the time taken to generate financial reports for executives and the board has been reduced to five days, a considerable improvement from the previous timeframe.
