Enhancing Community Resilience: The Shinagawa Disaster Prevention Project Day 2

The Tokyo Junior Chamber, Shinagawa District Committee, is excited to announce the upcoming event on July 13, 2025, titled "Shinagawa Disaster Prevention Project Day 2". This event will be held at the Aisle Shinagawa and aims to educate and engage the community in disaster preparedness.

This initiative follows the success of Day 1, which took place on July 6 at the Toyoha no Mori Gakuen in Shinagawa. Over the two days, participants will explore the concept of transitioning from self-help to mutual aid within the realm of disaster preparedness. The goal is to provide continuous learning opportunities about community resilience through experience and education.

During the first day, we offered participants hands-on workshops focusing on self-help, teaching practical methods to safeguard their lives during emergencies. The second day, however, shifts the focus towards mutual aid, illustrating how communities can come together to support each other in times of crisis. Participants can look forward to a lineup of distinguished guests who are experts in disaster relief and preparedness.

Among our speakers are:
  • - CANDLE JUNE, a prominent figure in disaster recovery efforts, particularly after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
  • - Kyoko Morisawa, the Mayor of Shinagawa, who will discuss local government initiatives in enhancing community safety.
  • - Momo Ishikawa, the brand manager for SONAENO, who advocates for a phase-free approach to disaster preparedness in everyday life.
  • - Risa Kawamura, CEO of Reward Wardrobe, who shares practical disaster preparedness advice from a parent's perspective.

We warmly invite families and friends to join us for this important event. The schedule includes a variety of activities and engaging workshops aimed at fostering awareness and skills for disaster situations:
