Tokyo Denki University and Soka City Forge New Partnership
In a significant move to strengthen educational ties and foster community development, Tokyo Denki University (TDU), led by Chairman Sadatsuna Watanabe, has entered into a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Soka City. This partnership aims to enhance both the university's research and educational endeavors while contributing to the growth of the local community.
Aiming for Comprehensive Collaboration
The collaboration between TDU and Soka City isn't new; both institutions have previously worked together on various initiatives. These include hosting the “Children’s University Soka” program, which is organized by the Soka City Board of Education, as well as providing internship opportunities for students, and supporting the D-SciTech program initiated by the university. The recent signing of the cooperation agreement marks a formal commitment to deepen this collaboration across several areas, including education, research, and regional development.
What is the Children’s University Soka?
The Children’s University Soka initiative is a collaboration between the Soka City Board of Education and Dokkyo University. It involves TDU along with other academic institutions like Bunkyo University and Ueno Gakuen Junior College. This program targets fifth and sixth graders in Soka City, offering them engaging lectures and experience-based activities led by specialists and university professors. Its aim is to stimulate the intellectual curiosity of young learners and inspire them for future academic pursuits.
D-SciTech Program: Cultivating Future Innovators
The D-SciTech program is another highlight of TDU’s offerings, designed for local elementary and junior high students who have an interest in manufacturing and the sciences.
