SIW IMPACT Award: Celebrating Innovations for a Better Tomorrow

The "SIW IMPACT" Award has officially opened for entries, aiming to recognize and celebrate innovative actions and ideas that pave the way for a brighter future. Organized by the Shibuya Future Design (President: Hideki Koizumi), this initiative forms part of the exciting lineup for the "SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK 2025" (SIW), which seeks to foster a vibrant culture and community grounded in social innovation.

Four Categories of Awards

The award features four distinct categories:
1. GOOD SOLUTION: Nominated by SIW fellows, this category focuses on practical solutions that address current social issues.
2. GOOD INNOVATOR: This category highlights individuals recognized by the SIW executive producer for their innovative contributions.
3. SHIBUYA GOOD ACTION: Open to general entries, this segment honors community-driven projects that enhance the lives of local residents and visitors alike.
4. GOOD IDEA: This open category encourages imaginative ideas aimed at exploring exciting and unprecedented futures.

Entries for the SIW IMPACT Award can reflect diverse perspectives and actions that aim to solve various social challenges by harnessing creativity and innovation. Not only will award winners be celebrated, but all participants will have the unique opportunity to connect with the Shibuya City Mayor, SIW fellows, and partner companies at the awards ceremony scheduled for October 31, 2025.

Entry Requirements

SHIBUYA GOOD ACTION

Projects must contribute to the development of an attractive, vibrant society that enriches the life experiences of Shibuya's inhabitants and visitors. Participation is open to various entities, including corporations, NPOs, students, volunteer groups, and individuals.

Criteria for Entry:

• - Projects must embody the essence of Shibuya.
• - Evidence of tangible actions already taken.
• - Sustainable initiatives with potential for further growth.
• - Compliance with social norms and ethics.
• - Availability for the awards ceremony and networking event.

GOOD IDEA

This category seeks proposals that envision a fun and diverse society. Applicants can propose innovative concepts in three specific areas:
1. PLAY GROUND: Ideas on transforming public spaces into dynamic recreational areas.
2. PLAY DIVERSITY: Projects aimed at enhancing inclusivity for individuals with disabilities, varying sexual orientations, and different age groups.
3. FUTURE DESIGN: Creative solutions to global and local challenges through imaginative thinking.

Eligibility Requirements:

• - Open to individuals and groups.
• - Representatives must be available for the pitch evaluation and awards ceremony.

Awards and Benefits:
Winners will receive trophies and recognition during the award ceremony, alongside opportunities for social implementation of their projects, supported by Axis Consulting Company.

• - Entry Period: July 25, 2025 – August 31, 2025
• - Judging Phase: September 8, 2025 – September 19, 2025
