Innovative Partnership to Encourage Healthy Lifestyles
In a promising development for health-conscious individuals, the walking app 'aruku&', managed by ONE COMPATH, has partnered with the Co-op Tohoku and Coop CS Network. Starting from September 24, 2025, users will have the opportunity to exchange points accrued through walking on the 'aruku&' app for Coop Points, thus linking healthy activities to tangible benefits.
This new collaboration aims to enhance the value provided to both the Co-op members and 'aruku&' users by facilitating a dual benefit: enabling users to earn points through walking while expanding 'aruku&'’s user base among Co-op members. The initiative seeks to encourage a walking habit among Co-op members, which aligns with the broader goal of promoting health within the community.
The Value of Points Exchange
Traditionally, Co-op Points have been awarded primarily through purchases. However, this new setup encourages engagement in healthy activities, providing members with an innovative avenue to earn rewards. 'aruku&' aims to cater to a diverse demographic, thereby reinforcing its position as a health-promoting app. By offering users a way to convert their walking efforts into tangible rewards, the app seeks to enhance daily well-being and reinforce a culture of healthy living.
Members using 'aruku&' will soon be able to convert their walking points directly into Coop Points, which can then be used at various Coop outlets across the Tohoku and Chugoku-Shikoku regions. This seamless integration turns everyday walking into advantageous shopping benefits, motivating users to maintain their active lifestyle.
How the Exchange Works
Exchanging 'aruku&' points for Coop Points is designed to be user-friendly. App users can easily request a conversion from their app’s interface, allowing them to select their preferred Co-op to exchange points with. For instance, 72,000 'aruku&' points can be exchanged for 300 Coop Points, approximately equivalent to 300 yen. Members can utilize their points in-store or for home delivery services, depending on the specific Coop’s offerings.
Participating Co-ops
The points exchange will initially involve several Co-ops in the Tohoku and Chugoku-Shikoku regions:
- - Tohoku: Coop Aomori, Coop Akita, Iwate Cooperative, and more.
- - Chugoku-Shikoku: Tottori Prefecture Coop, Shimane Cooperative, Okayama Coop, among others.
This initiative not only facilitates the accumulation of points but also emphasizes the importance of integrating walking as part of a regular lifestyle, encouraging members to engage in healthier practices.
Looking Ahead
Through this collaboration, 'aruku&' is committed to fostering sustainable healthy habits among its users and enriching the daily lives of community members overall. The app aims to expand partnerships with various Co-op organizations across Japan, continually developing valuable services tailored to users and members alike. This initiative exemplifies a progressive step towards enhancing community well-being through cooperative efforts.
