Experience the Thrill of Japan's World Heritage Sites: Yakushima and Amami Islands Tour

Discover Japan's Natural Heritage

Japan is home to many breathtaking sites, but few are as captivating as the World Heritage-listed Yakushima and Amami Islands. JALPAK, in collaboration with Japan Air Commuter (JAC), has announced an incredible limited-time tour titled "A Journey that Moves the Heart: Exploring the Depths of the Two Greens of the World Natural Heritage Yakushima and Amami". This exclusive experience is set to begin on August 20, 2026, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in the stunning natural beauty and rich culture of these regions.

Tour Highlights

Scheduled for four days and three nights, the tour offers a unique way to explore these islands using modern propeller aircraft, which are vital for connecting the island communities and providing essential services. Participants will benefit from a specialized program focusing on the importance of these air routes and the support they provide to local healthcare and lifestyle.

Exclusive JAC Experience Program

One of the highlights will be the unique "JAC Special Experience Program." Participants will have the rare opportunity to visit a hangar at Kagoshima Airport, where active pilots, flight attendants, and mechanics will provide insights into the role of the airline in supporting the community and its commitment to environmental sustainability. This behind-the-scenes look will allow travelers to feel the pulse of propeller aircraft first-hand, creating a truly unforgettable experience.

A Sustainable Journey

The tour is part of a larger initiative funded by a grant from the Amami Islands Promotion Project. A portion of the travel cost – 500 yen for each participant – will be donated by JALPAK to the Japan Ecotourism Association to support sustainable practices and preservation of the local environment. This commitment to sustainability ensures that your travel experience not only promises enjoyment but also contributes positively to the communities you visit.

Memorable Keepsakes

In celebration of the fifth anniversary of Amami Island's World Heritage designation, each participant will receive exclusive memorabilia, including a special "JAL Original Flight Tag" and a limited-edition mont-bell alpine thermos bottle. These items will act as lasting reminders of an enriching journey through Japan's captivating landscapes.
