CRRC EV Unveils Revolutionary All-Electric Buses and Smart City Transit System

Introduction

On October 4, 2025, at the Busworld Europe 2025 event in Brussels, CRRC Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. (CRRC EV) announced two groundbreaking all-electric buses, along with an integrated low-carbon urban transportation system. This initiative aims to redefine smarter urban mobility while significantly cutting down carbon emissions.

Innovative Electric Buses

The newly launched buses include the high-end EU12C and the two-story ED12 public transport bus, both designed to meet future urban transportation needs. The EU12C, a premium all-electric bus, is built on an advanced 800 V architecture, boasting a peak power of 480 kW and torque of 5,100 N•m. This powerful configuration enables the bus to conquer inclines greater than 30%. With its aerodynamic design and high-efficiency propulsion system, the EU12C offers an impressive range of up to 550 km on a single charge, and supports ultra-fast charging, reducing downtime considerably.

The ED12, a double-decker public transport bus, has the capacity to accommodate 126 passengers and can cover up to 560 km of urban routes per charge under ESORT conditions. It is constructed from lightweight 6000-series aluminum alloy sourced from high-speed rail applications, ensuring a lifespan of 20 years. In addition, the ED12 features a robust ten-layer battery security architecture.

The Digital-Intelligent Transit System

Alongside the buses, CRRC EV introduced its Smart Urban Transport Solution — a digital-intelligent low-carbon urban transit system. This comprehensive solution leverages big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) through its Smart Cloud Brain (TOCC). The system is designed to facilitate precise urban management and real-time decision-making for smarter transportation networks.

Features of the Urban Transport Solution

1. Mobility as a Service (MaaS): This focuses on enhancing public transportation via AI-driven scheduling and intelligent maintenance services. The two-tiered network integrates subways, smart trains, and buses, supplemented by feeders and microbuses for last-mile connectivity. For instance, the
