MDK Motorsports Welcomes Rising Stars Tom Tait and Slade Stewart for 2025 Season
MDK Motorsports has officially announced the addition of talented racers Tom Tait and Slade Stewart to its roster for the highly anticipated 2025 Michelin Pilot Challenge. Scheduled for January 24, this thrilling endurance race will take place at the renowned Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Tait and Stewart will compete in a powerful 2024 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS within the GS (Grand Sport) class of this demanding four-hour event, which serves as a significant lead-up to the iconic Rolex 24 at Daytona.
In an exciting development, MDK Motorsports also revealed that the organization "Racing to End Alzheimer's" will reprise its role as a team sponsor for the upcoming 2025 season. The initiative leverages the passion of motorsports to raise awareness and support for Alzheimer's disease, providing fans with the opportunity to honor loved ones by featuring their names on race cars. For a donation of $250, supporters can have their tributes displayed prominently, with all proceeds directly funding care and research for Alzheimer's.
Both drivers bring remarkable racing experiences to this prestigious team. Tom Tait, who joined MDK Motorsports last year, made an impressive mark in the Dark Horse Legends class, securing a win at the debut event in Mid-Ohio and finishing fourth overall in standings by the end of the season. His racing journey includes notable stints in the 2022 and 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championships and the Porsche GT3 Cup Sprint Trophy across 2018 and 2019, with an impressive podium finish rate of 85%.
In contrast, Slade Stewart is quickly establishing himself as a competitive force within the racing world. Notably, he clinched the LB Cup class championship during the 2022 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series and achieved a commendable second-place finish in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals. Transitioning to the Pro/Am class in 2023, he demonstrated his prowess by clinching third place in the US Championship the following year. Stewart's versatility is further illustrated by his participation in trophy truck contests and the Porsche Sprint Challenge.
Megan Kvamme, the CEO of MDK Motorsports, expressed excitement about the new additions to the team, stating, "We are incredibly excited to have two extraordinary talents like Tom Tait and Slade Stewart join the MDK Motorsports family for this year's Michelin Pilot Challenge BMW Endurance race. Their unmatched skills and determination will undoubtedly contribute to a thrilling competition at Daytona."
Furthermore, Kvamme highlighted the significance of partnering again with Racing to End Alzheimer's, stating, "This partnership allows us to honor our loved ones while simultaneously raising vital funds for a substantial cause. Encouraging awareness within our racing community is of utmost importance to us."
