Exciting News: FANCL Classic PGA Senior Tour Scheduled for 2025

FANCL Classic: A Celebration of Golf and Community

The excitement is building in the world of golf as the FANCL Classic PGA Senior Tour has been officially scheduled for October 17-19, 2025. Held at the beautiful Susono Country Club in Shizuoka Prefecture, this year marks the 24th edition of the much-anticipated tournament. Under the auspices of the Japan Professional Golf Association (PGA), headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, the tournament promises to be a showcase of skill and sportsmanship.

The slogan for this year’s event, "The Energy of Seniors is Japan's Energy!" reflects the tournament's mission to inspire vitality among seniors through golf. Last year, the elite golfer Masakazu Miyamoto not only participated but also claimed victory, earning back-to-back championships. This year, 78 golfers, including 73 professionals and 5 amateurs, are set to compete, upping the excitement for fans and participants alike.

Special Features of the Tournament

Adding a unique twist this year is the introduction of the LADYGO CUP exhibition match. This event will feature female golfers who are competing in the LADYGO CUP, aiming to highlight the challenges faced by women in balancing their careers within the sport. Scheduled for October 18 and 19, these matches will present six competitors battling it out for a total prize pool of 2 million yen. With prizes allocated to the top three finishers, this event not only creates visibility for women in golf but also encourages participation and support for female athletes.

The tournament also features a Special Grand Seniors Award, which will be given to the top senior golfers (aged 60 and above) attending the tournament, further showcasing the capability and talent of older professionals. This award is intended to celebrate the contributions of senior golfers in the sport and within their communities.

Broadcasting the Exciting Competitions

For all golf enthusiasts eager to witness the action, the tournament will be broadcast live on BS Television Tokyo on October 19, allowing fans across the nation to see the competitiveness and excitement unfold from the comfort of their homes. The event's dedicated showcases on the 10th and 14th to 18th holes promise gripping moments and a chance to celebrate excellence in golf.

A Family-Friendly Event

This year, the FANCL Classic aims not just to entertain diehard golf fans but also to engage families with diverse activities planned throughout the venue. Attendees can enjoy the KIRIN Kids Park, featuring fun games like putting and shooting, ensuring that children have a delightful experience. Additionally, there will be health counseling corners, skin analysis stations, and an animal interaction area facilitated in partnership with the nearby Fuji Safari Park, making this a truly family-oriented event.

Charity and Community Contribution

The FANCL Classic has a longstanding commitment to social responsibility, donating tournament proceeds to local causes. Since the establishment of the FANCL Classic Fund, which started during its seventh edition, the tournament has aimed to contribute to significant charities such as the World Food Program's local affiliate and the Susono City initiatives. The alignment of the charity work with themes like environmental sustainability, healthy lifestyles, and inclusivity underscores the tournament's dedication to making a positive impact.

Ticket Information

The FANCL Classic is set to be an accessible event, welcoming attendees of all ages. Young visitors and seniors over 70 can enter for free, while general admission tickets are priced reasonably at 3,000 yen for advance purchases (three tickets) and 1,000 yen for entry on the first day, increasing to 2,000 yen on the following tournament days. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Susono Country Club.

As anticipation builds for 2025, the FANCL Classic promises to be an event that showcases not only the sport of golf but also community spirit, family engagement, and social responsibility. Be sure to mark your calendars for a spectacular weekend full of competition and jubilation!
