Upcoming Symposium on Health Management



The Health and Management Advocacy Society, based in Bunkyo, Tokyo, aims to foster effective corporate health initiatives. Founded in 2013, the organization is proud to announce its 12th symposium: _"Defending Workers' Health: A Proactive Approach to Health Management"_, scheduled for May 21, 2026. This event offers a hybrid format, allowing attendees to participate in person at Bunkyo Civic Center or online through a Zoom Webinar.

Event Details


The symposium will focus on two main themes: Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Cancer Management in the workplace.

In the first session, Professor Kazunari Komuro from the International University of Health and Welfare will deliver a keynote address on strategies for cardiovascular disease management within organizations. This will be followed by a panel discussion featuring notable professionals, including:
  • - Mitsuki Fukuda, Director of the Healthcare Industry Division at the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI)
  • - Yasuhiro Sato, Director of the Health Insurance Division at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW)
  • - Emi Kawashima, CEO of Keep Health, with Nobuhide Takaya, Chairperson of the Health and Management Advocacy Society, serving as the moderator.

In the second part, Yoichi Matsuoka, Director of the Cancer Control Research Institute at the National Cancer Center, will present pivotal insights into cancer prevention efforts. This segment will consist of another panel discussion, moderated by Yushi Yamamoto, a director at Minacare, featuring:
  • - Matsuoka, along with Fukuda, Shinya Tsuruta (Director of Cancer and Disease Control at MHLW), and Michiyo Nanba, President of the SHINKPAAL Association.

The symposium aims to provide HR specialists, corporate executives, and health insurers with the knowledge and tools to advance employee health management initiatives effectively.

About the Health and Management Advocacy Society


Founded in May 2013, the Health and Management Advocacy Society emphasizes collaboration between companies and insurers, addressing how to structurally promote employee health cohesively. The organization evolved into a non-profit society in 2021, intensifying its outreach and educational activities regarding health management strategies.

This upcoming symposium is designed to cultivate discussions among academia, government officials, and industrial physicians, enhancing stakeholder cooperation to address workplace health challenges effectively. Participants can expect actionable strategies and insights that will facilitate better health outcomes in organizations.
