In a groundbreaking collaboration, HKS Co., Ltd. has teamed up with Caterham EVo Limited, a UK-based subsidiary of VT Holdings, to support the development of the new electric vehicle (EV) sports coupe, Project V. Headquartered in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka, HKS is known for its high-performance aftermarket automotive parts and tuning culture, making this partnership a significant step towards a sustainable future in the automotive industry.

The Essence of Project V

Project V is rooted in Caterham's brand DNA, encapsulated by the slogan “Pure.Simple.Fun.” This exciting development initiative was unveiled to the world at the renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2023, where anticipation for the concept vehicle began to soar. Following its initial presentation, the concept car will also be showcased at the Tokyo Auto Salon in 2024 and 2025.

HKS's Role in Development

Caterham is collaborating closely with Tokyo R&D Co., Ltd., based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, to accelerate the development of the project, with a prototype as the primary goal. HKS's vital contribution includes developing an optimized high-performance suspension system tailored specifically for the EV sports coupe. This entails a full support system for both the development and manufacturing phases of the vehicle.

In addition to the suspension system, HKS aims to enhance both the handling and ride quality of Project V. Utilizing their extensive experience in analysis and tuning, they are committed to elevating the vehicle's overall performance to meet modern driving demands.

Future of Project V

The culmination of this collaborative effort will come to fruition when the latest prototype of Project V is revealed to the public for the very first time at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, scheduled between January 9 and 11 at Makuhari Messe, at the Caterham Cars Japan booth.
