Huawei's New NG WAN Solution Revolutionizes Telecommunications Growth in the AI Era

Huawei's Revolutionary NG WAN Solution

On October 13, 2026, during the Net5.5G Intelligent IP Network Summit, Huawei's Vice President of Data Communication Product Line, John Cai, unveiled the large-scale commercial launch of the NG WAN Solution. This significant advancement in telecommunications is poised to reshape the industry landscape, especially in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).

Heralding a New Era in Telecommunications Technology

With the harsh realities of the global economy, Cai emphasized the importance of AI integration, presenting it as an opportunity for growth amidst uncertainty. The NG WAN Solution, acknowledged as a crucial asset in this transformation, aims to cooperate with industry partners to enhance network security and support mutual growth among carriers.

Security Through Innovation: Multi-Layered Defense

One of the cornerstone features of Huawei's NG WAN Solution is its robust multi-layered security framework, which spans across device, link, and service layers. At the device layer, Huawei implements an innovative RDR solution that incorporates independent Threat Protection Units (TPUs) and a multimodal behavior algorithm. This structure operates independently from the router's operating system, boasting a threat detection rate of over 95%. This is critical for quickly tracing advanced persistent threats (APTs) within moments. Moreover, in practical applications, over three months of usage revealed that these TPUs successfully thwarted 324 attacks originating from eight different countries.

At the link layer, Huawei’s PQC algorithm significantly enhances encryption performance by 40%, supporting every Huawei device and scenario, while its groundbreaking Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology cuts network construction costs by 60% and helps overcome the traditional 80 km transmission barrier. This culminated in the launch of a quantum-secured target network in Macao, remarkably boosting private line revenue by 50%.
