Additionally, four in ten U.S. channel firms expect to see favorable financial outcomes from both cybersecurity and cloud services in the same timeframe.

Respondents to the GTIA survey pinpointed that both AI tools and cybersecurity services are central to the health and growth of the IT channel, with adoption rates of 49% for each, closely followed by cloud adoption at 47%.

Despite the optimism reflected in these statistics, external economic challenges act as potential stumbling blocks, as highlighted by 44% of respondents. The persistent economic instability poses risks that might inhibit consumer spending, an issue that weighs heavily on the minds of channel companies. Moreover, there’s a notable concern over workforce skills shortages, with nearly 40% identifying it as a significant inhibitor to success.

Mixed Outlook for 2025



As we look toward 2025, North American channel firms maintain differing views on the industry’s trajectory. While half see the channel as ‘relevant and holding steady’, the other half depicts it as ‘healthy and rapidly changing’. This dichotomy underscores the complexity of the industry, where factors such as company size, geographic location, and service offerings contribute to varied experiences.

Interestingly, the report reveals that many channel companies are not only meeting but exceeding their business expectations. Around 30% of U.S. channel firms report being ahead of their business goals, with the majority (53%) stating they are on target with their objectives.
