Capital Group Launches Community Wealth Council to Enhance Financial Education Access
Capital Group Expands Philanthropic Efforts with Community Wealth Council
Capital Group, recognized as one of the leading active investment managers globally, is set to elevate its commitment to philanthropy through the launch of the Community Wealth Council. This innovative program seeks to enhance access to financial education and resources, marking a significant expansion of its longstanding dedication to charitable giving.
The Community Wealth Council is designed as a fellowship targeted at nonprofit leaders across the United States, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to foster financial literacy within their organizations. The initiative will commence with a select cohort of fellows from 14 nonprofit organizations, who will receive comprehensive support over a two-year period to establish robust financial education programs for their communities. This includes participation in eight months of instructional sessions, which incorporate roundtable discussions and hands-on learning experiences. In an effort to facilitate knowledge transfer, each fellow will be paired with experienced financial advisors volunteering their expertise as mentors.
This ambitious program has been developed in collaboration with notable nonprofit organizations, The Practice Space and the Foundation for Financial Planning. The Council aims to address findings from Capital Group's research that highlighted significant disparities in financial education and resource accessibility among nonprofit entities. By empowering nonprofit leaders with financial education capabilities, the program aspires to create a ripple effect, enhancing financial literacy at the community level.
