Eco革 Joins Forces with Solar Planet for Decarbonization Initiatives in Japan

Partnership Announcement between Eco革 and Solar Planet

In a strategic move towards sustainable energy, Eco革, a consolidated subsidiary specializing in solar power, has announced its partnership with Solar Planet, a joint venture established by Prominet Power, wholly owned by Tokyo Gas, and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank. This collaboration is focused on securing solar power plants aimed at promoting decarbonization initiatives.

Background of the Partnership

Eco革 has a proven track record in the solar power industry, having developed numerous solar power plants across Japan, especially in the Kanto region. The company excels in overseeing the entire process of land acquisition, material procurement, and construction, which has substantially contributed to its success in the industry since its inception.

Solar Planet was created in February 2024 to address the growing demand for renewable energy among companies striving for carbon neutrality. With an ambitious goal to develop and operate decentralized solar power plants across 200 locations with a total output of 20 MW, Solar Planet aims to offer solutions that meet the needs of RE100 member companies.

Recognizing Eco革’s strong development capabilities, Solar Planet chose to partner with them to enhance their small-scale solar power projects.

Details of the Collaboration

Under the terms of this partnership, Eco革 will manage various operational activities including site selection, acquisition negotiations, and securing power systems. The collaboration sets a goal to supply approximately 60 small-scale solar power plants within the first year.
