Spectee Collaborates with MMDA for Safer Metro Manila

On a significant note, the Japanese resilience tech startup, Spectee Inc., based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the government organization overseeing urban planning, disaster response, and traffic management in Metro Manila. This collaboration aims to utilize Spectee's AI-driven real-time disaster prevention and crisis management service, known as Spectee Pro.

The MOU was made possible through the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as part of its initiative for small businesses and SDGs business support projects. Founded under Republic Act No. 7924, MMDA plays a critical role in emergency response and urban resilience management for the capital region, home to approximately 14 million people in Metro Manila and around 24 million in its greater metropolitan area.

Metro Manila is prone to natural disasters such as typhoons, floods, and earthquakes, making efficient crisis management essential. The agreement with MMDA is seen as a step towards developing a more robust and effective framework for disaster response in the region. Spectee Pro's capabilities in real-time situation monitoring and visualization align perfectly with MMDA's mission to enhance emergency preparedness and response.

Under this MOU, MMDA will receive access to Spectee Pro, facilitating real-time monitoring of disasters, incidents, and traffic situations throughout the metropolitan area. Furthermore, both organizations plan to deepen their collaboration by integrating the information resources held by MMDA, including CCTV camera footage, into Spectee Pro. This integration aims to create a system that enables more precise situational awareness and faster decision-making, thus improving overall public safety in Metro Manila.

According to Satoshi Negoro, COO of Spectee, this partnership is a remarkable opportunity to contribute to the safety and stability of a crucial region like Metro Manila. Negoro expressed pride in providing Spectee Pro to MMDA, stating, "We aim to fully leverage the power of real-time visualization that Spectee Pro delivers to ensure the safety and peace of mind of those living in Metro Manila."
