Telkomsel Expands 5G with Hyper AI Network to Enhance Connectivity for Holiday Season
Telkomsel Enhances Digital Connectivity in Jakarta
In a significant move to strengthen its market presence, Telkomsel has announced the expansion of its Hyper 5G network across Jakarta and its surrounding areas. Specifically aimed at improving digital experiences during the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations, this initiative will utilize an autonomous network powered by Hyper AI technology in collaboration with Huawei.
Expanding 5G Coverage in Key Locations
The rollout covers vital areas within Jakarta, including major hubs like Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma airports, as well as Pantai Indah Kapuk business zones and city centers extending to Monas, the National Monument. This marks a strategic deployment that will eventually see the 5G network further expanded to other crucial locations throughout Indonesia. With a commitment to providing faster internet speeds, Telkomsel aims to offer a connection that's up to four times quicker than its 4G counterparts, while also minimizing latency and accommodating a greater number of connected devices.
Achievements Since Launch
Since its commercial launch in 2021, Telkomsel's 5G network has become the most extensive and advanced in the country, boasting over 1,400 base transceiver stations (BTS) spread across 56 cities and regions. Indra Mardiatna, CTO of Telkomsel, stated, "As this region serves as a business and governance epicenter with a high penetration of smartphone users, the demand for faster data transfers has surged. Hyper 5G doesn't just deliver a fast connection; it acts as a catalyst for digital transformation across all aspects of life, contributing to our vision of Indonesia Gold 2045."
Leveraging Hyper AI for Improved Services
In addition to its network expansion, Telkomsel is harnessing Hyper AI's capabilities to optimize service quality and efficiency. This technology allows for quicker responses to network disruptions and automates network management in a self-sustaining manner. Mardiatna elaborated, "With Hyper AI, we ensure peak service quality at all times, especially during busy periods like the holidays, thus enhancing customer service in all major Hyper 5G areas."
Telkomsel also employs AI-driven virtual customer service assistants—Veronika for B2C and Ted for B2B—enhanced through AI-driven help centers, to respond effectively to customer demands, ensuring high-quality service in this 5G era.
Preparing for Increased Network Demand
As the holiday season approaches, Telkomsel anticipates a staggering increase in network traffic, with projections estimating a 14.8% rise and total data traffic hitting approximately 1,981 petabytes. They have meticulously optimized infrastructure for both 4G/LTE and 5G, conducting extensive network testing in strategic locations to ensure seamless access to digital services.
"As a leading digital telecommunications provider, Telkomsel is committed to delivering optimism and positive energy to the community. By optimizing connectivity as well as innovative solutions, we aim to ensure that every customer can enjoy a hassle-free, comfortable, and joyful holiday experience," emphasized Mardiatna.
