Bauducco® Welcomes Jean-Pierre Comte as New North American CEO to Drive Growth

Bauducco® Welcomes Jean-Pierre Comte as CEO for North America

Bauducco®, a renowned Brazilian baked goods company, has recently appointed Jean-Pierre Comte as Chief Executive Officer for its North American operations. Effective immediately, Comte will take the helm to steer Bauducco®'s growth trajectory in the U.S. and Canada, bringing with him over three decades of leadership experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.

Before assuming this significant role, Comte was the President at Rana Meal Solutions, where he managed operations across both the U.S. and Canadian markets. His past achievements also include a prominent tenure at Barilla where he was instrumental in overseeing the company’s entire Americas region. Not only is Comte recognized for his adeptness in leading large-scale operations, but he has also gained a strong reputation for fostering sustainable growth and developing high-performing teams during his illustrious career, including significant milestones at Procter & Gamble.

In response to his new position, Comte stated, "I am honored to lead Bauducco® at such an exciting moment in the company's history. Joining the Bauducco family presents a unique opportunity to build on a brand that boasts 75 years of heritage and authenticity, and I am eager to extend Bauducco®'s presence across North America."

Simultaneously, Stefano Mozzi will be stepping into the role of CEO at Pandatura Group, the parent company that encompasses Bauducco®, Casa Bauducco®, Ellece Logística, Visconti, and Tommy. With 16 years under his belt at Bauducco® and an expansive background in consumer goods, Mozzi is well-prepared to lead the brand into its next phase of growth and market evolution.

Mozzi expressed confidence in Comte's leadership capabilities, emphasizing that he has the essential skills in brand building, customer relationship management, and innovation that are vital for enhancing Bauducco®'s competitive stance in the increasingly fierce U.S. market.

This leadership change also coincides with the opening of Bauducco®'s largest manufacturing facility in Zephyrhills, Florida. Spanning a massive 160,000 square feet, this new center will significantly enhance domestic production capabilities. The facility is expected to create over 600 jobs at full capacity and will allow Bauducco® to diversify its product categories in the U.S. market, including the introduction of panettone, thereby improving supply chain efficiencies and reducing response times to market demand.

A graduate of NEOMA Business School in France, Comte also holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Institut d'Études Politiques in Grenoble. His extensive educational and professional background in FMCG positions him well to lead Bauducco® during this pivotal time.

Founded in Brazil in 1952 by an Italian immigrant, Bauducco® has grown into one of the largest producers of baked goods globally. The brand is known for its innovative and passionate approach to creating unforgettable culinary experiences. With products sold in over 50 countries, Bauducco® has maintained a significant presence in the U.S. market for over two decades, most notably with its panettone, which commands an impressive 86% market share in its category. In addition to panettone, Bauducco® is the leading wafer producer nationwide, with its signature wafers, cookies, and toasts available in a multitude of major retailers across the United States.
